A few things to point out here.....

1. The NBA was forced to institute a dress code because of the "gansta style" that many of these "grown men" who make millions of dollars choose to sport. And unfortunately that "style" is the same as the one that is worn by many gangs. It looks sloppy and unprofessional, and it's about making a statement. But why do these African-American men feel the need to make this statement?

While I agree that dressing like a "gangsta" is unprofessional and a dress code is perfectly acceptable for a team to impose on it's players, it's definately not just African-American men. Have you driven past a high school lately? I don't know about where you live, but there seem to be plenty of white and Asian kids who walk around dressed like they are Snoop Dogg.

2. Why are the majority of gangs in the cities generally made up by "minorities"? Latinos/Hispanics, Asians, AfroCanadian/Americans.....but so few caucasian's. What is the reason for this?

What about the Hells Angels, the Italian Mafia, and Russian Mafia, as well as other Eastern European gangs involved in drug and sex trafficking.

4. Everyone is racist. Any time you generalize or make a blanket statement about a group of people, you are being racist. So that tells me that all racism is not wrong.....merely the predjudiced kind.

So when someone thinks that these "Fity-Cent" types are a lazy, criminals, or just bad people in general.....they are stereotyping no? Yes, but not by race as people assume, but by the genre of lifestyle that they do not condone. It is not the fault of the individual that the so many of these "minorities" which they stereotype choose to live the lifestyle that they do.

In Emery's case.....he's often struck me as a guy with a chip on his shoulder. The hat on all cock-eyed, the short fuse on ice.....it's what he has chosen. And that's how he will be perceived.

I'm not sure what you mean by "all racism is not wrong.....merely the predjudiced kind." Saying "all black people are nice" is just as incorrect as saying "all black people are bad." You also seem to be saying that if black people would just choose to start acting like some sort of idealized version of the way white people are presumed to act, things would be better for them. Unfortunately, there are a ton of stupid white people who don't wear baggy pants and a hat on cock-eyed, but are much worse people than Ray Emery....

Hmm, now I must admit this response looks horribly defensive. Truth be told this is a sensitive topic for me, I don't condone or tolerate racism at all, so it bugs me when the issue is dragged through the mud when is no need for it.
