There's nothing we have that will be this "steamroller" you speak of. No UFA/Trade ... Cooke's the closest to a banger we have ... woe is the Cancuks top line tongue.gif

But really last season how much did bert throw his body around? rarely... infact i seem to remember seeing Naslund throw hits more then bert.

I think Bert threw some big hits ... at least more memorable hits than Naslund tongue.gif I think people were still worried about his ability to throw hits though ... and that may have helped a bit.

I think a guy to watch out for will be Brandon Reid.
I think he will start the season on one of the top 2 lines. We didn't sign him for a 3rd or 4th line role, and he didn't re-sign to play in Manitoba.

If ever a golden opportunity could fall into someones lap, this is it for Reid. I hope he comes to camp in shape, and mentally prepared to make good on this last chance.

Reid is a center. He is also a passer and the Sedins need a trigger man. Putting Reid on that line would be like putting two male panadas in the same cage, pointless. Oh yeah and Reid's shot is below average even for the AHL.

Here's a thought from outside the box:

Why not try Ryan Kesler on the wing with Nazzy & Mo?

Yes, Kesler is a centre, but a right handed shot. He may have played on the wing in his minor/junior days.

He also has the tenacity and abrasiveness to complement the smooth skating style of Naslund and Morrison.

Also, his new linemates will be feeding he puck to him more often, thereby creating more scoring opportunities for himself.

To fill the centre void on the 3rd and fourth lines, use what's on the farm or get a player from the Manitoba Moose, or land a cheap free agent centre, which may be more available than UFA defencemen or right wingers.

Just my 2 cents. Any thoughts?

I agree that beyond Cooke, that Kesler may get a shot at RW on top two lines.
If he gets the $1M+ he's asking for, we'll need some contribution beyond 3rd line minutes.
I hope Anson is back, but it seems inevitable that we'll have someone in house (Cooke/Kesler/Moose Player) playing on one of the top two lines.
