Chouinard practiced yesterday and should be tested today in a full contact scrimmage. If all signs of his shoulder are okay, he will suit up for Friday's home opener. Kess and Krajicek were given the day off yesterday to heal from there minor ailments, but both are expected to play Friday. Also in the lineup will be Luc Bourdon in place of the injured Sami Salo. Salo strained his groin and will be day-to-day following Friday's matchup.

Veenyo has also given props to the Swede line and has no intention of splitting them up. I personally do not agree with the combo's of the top two lines, and feel it really takes away from Mo's effectivness. But that has already well documented and shall not further digress.

Veenyo also stated the team will be wearing the vintage blues for the home opener against San Jose. "I prefer the old colours, the old sweater," Veenyo said. "For me and the Canucks, that old sweater is what it's all about. I don't know if I should be saying that, but I prefer this [vintage] to the [new] logo. It is a beautiful colour and a beautiful sweater."

I couldn't agree more coach biggrin.gif

Hopefully Vigneault will get his wish and make us fans happy by taking on this relic out of the closet and into the spotlight.

Thanks Blades.

Interesting to go with the vintage over the corperate logo for the home openner, I wonder how that sits with the guy in Seattle.

Well done Alain.

As usual, I will be wearing my Vintage whites.

I would understand that he could possibly have a different mask, but I cant see Luongo changing into brand new gear(pads, etc.) before the home opener. His stuff probably is barely broke in now and I have yet to see him practicing or anything in other equipment than his grey/blue/red RBK's.
If he does have a spare set of Green/Blue equipment for these special vintage nights than good for him... glad to see he is spending his hard-earned salary towards the sport he loves. smile.gif
Oh wait... he's sponsored by RBK. He is there #1 goaltender spokesperson. They probably make him sets for free all the time! mad.gif

EDIT: I know that sounds like jealousy.... and it is!

grabbed this off Brochu is hockey

"There are some earlier rumblings that the Vancouver Canucks are looking to redesign their logo for 2007-2008. The new owner, Francesco Aquilini, is interested in distancing the Canucks from the Orca Bay connection. More on this later."

If they do I think they should make 3 or 4 logo's and let the fans decide, vintage would be alright I just think the reason I like it is because of the colours, logo could be a little more modern though. I'd have to say of all the logo's around the league, I like Nashvilles the most, I also like Anaheims pimped out D, I cant picture what the new logo could look like but I'd like to see the change

Awesome. smile.gif Mask looks cool.
I am excited about the new look, but changing equipment scares me a little unsure.gif
Then again I'm sure Luongo knows what he's doing wink.gif

Nashville and Anahiem have two of the worst jersey's in the league. Followed closely by Atlanta's third blue uni... effin' brutal!
