Another minus 2 for big TL (tough luck). I know I will be ripped for dogging mr community, but lets face it.. Trevor Linden would not suit up for any other team in this league, nor would Josh (why am I in the NhL) Green (-3).. I am just a little pissed at lack of ANY secondary scoring, but I am really sick of watching the replays and seeing Trevor Linden on the ice once again for a goal against. If we are gonna suck for production on our third and fourth line, we might as well bring back up Rypien and Schultz for foot speed alone.. mad.gif At least Bulis showed some life.

Grow a brain there bub.. Secondary scoring comes from anywheres other than the first line - correct.. HOW ABOUT IT COMMING FROM THE DO NOTHING ALL GAME 2nd LINE!.. Seriously how can you dog linden and green, without mention b-mo's counter-productive crap holding penalties he takes EVERY game. He doesnt know how to use his legs anymore.. Every game its the same lazy no skate effort every time.

Linden got his goal in the first game of the season. Now watch him get nothing for the next 10-15 games.

But before I blamed Linden or Green, two guys playing on the fourth line, I would look at guys like Bulis (1.3) and Morrison (3.2) for doing nothing for the team in the first five games. Morrison had no shots tonight and was -2. 4.5 million wasted on those two guys. I'm sure the team could spend that amount wiser.

I agree 100% with your analysis of Morison and Bulis.. I am still reluctant to dog Morison at this point, but I don't know why.. Last year he has the hip excuse, and this year he doesn't have the footspeed. I am still thinking it is residual effect from his operation, but how long will we let him ride this excuse.. My reasons for dogging Tough Luck Linden are echoed by the previous poster who must have ESP in predicting Linden won't score again for another 15 games.. Rypien and Schulz (who really did suck in camp) should be holding positions on this team over Linden and Green... They do have footspeed which is a needed in the new NHL

They are our fourth line! Are you trying to tell me that most teams fourth lines are +4 or something. Rypien and Schultz would be -4 and -5 respectivlely. Linden gives this team a whole lotta leadership - he is arguably the greatest canuck ever. Leave him alone. Especially since he gets payed dick all comparitively.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Mo doesn't have the footspeed. He's shown some great bursts that have caught many a defender flat footed already this year. Usually though he is coming from behind and overtaking so he doesn't get a true scoring chance. Mo's real problem this season has been the mental game.

If we're going to play the bad +/- game then look no further than Luc Bourdon. Sure he was only a minus 2 tonight, but his icetime was only 4:41. Bourdon was benched in the second half of the game (unless I missed the injury).

How dare you state the obvious. You have to learn that all talk about Trev must begin and end with his great leadership, work in the community, '94 playoffs etc. It's the intangibles! Don't you get it? Nevermind that he really has no business being in the league anymore. Watch him motivate from the middle of the bench. It may look like he is staring blankly and sulking but he is really grooming the young kids for the future. Get with the program KC, people on this board often don't like to deal with reality especially when it come to Mr. cough it up. Sure we'd be better off with some youth and/or grit but then we wouldn't be able to bask in the glow of one of the top 20 Canuck leaders of the early 90's.

Are you seriously that stupid?!.. HE PLAYS ON THE FOURTH LINE/PK.. 4th line, you know the one after the 3rd.. He gets shit all for minutes. Let me give you an example...

Are you going to say that its floridas 4th liner Joel Kwiatkowski's fault if florida is doing shitty NO YOU ARENT.. Youd would be blaming someone who isnt putting out offensively most likely..On florida panthers Gary Roberts and Joe Nieuwendyk both make 2.25 mill a year.. They are also getting closer to retiring granted. Yet they still get top 1st 2nd line minutes on a florida team. Now Morrisson is making 3.2 mill this year and he also gets 2nd line minutes WITH PowerPLay time.. Now you retarded linden shit talkers.. Answer this how can you bitch about a guy who gets 4th line/pk minutes, with the fact that you have no idea how he is in the dressing room.. When you have brendan morrison sucking so much dick the last 2 years with his amazing salary.. put that into perspective

Easy there little fellah. I can bitch about whoever I want, Mo is having a bad start but I prefer to bitch about Linden because he does very little and has done very little for a long time. I doubt he is that great a leader as his career speaks for itslelf in that regard, ask Isles, Caps and Habs fans. We need more than intangibles and this leadership thing is getting old as I see no signs of it on the ice. What has happebed to people like you who were on about his great comeback year? Maybe second line pp time? He can't even make a pss and keep up to the play. He is worse than last year and he better smarten up quick or AV will sit him out, hopefully. I prefer to ignore the hype and feel strongly that the team would be better off without him. If you don't happen to agree then it is your right to live with your up your butt. Have a nice day

Yeah, release him and Green, send Luongo down, trade Morrison.......or wait until we hit at least 10-15 games played. Our defense on a whole is still trying to figure things out and it's EARLY in the season. You're a little premature on your assessment there. Try to think about baseball, it might help.

I don't buy all the excuses. These guys have been playing hockey since they were children. They've been taught what to do and what not to do. You should not have to brow beat a 30 year old 10 Year NHL veteran that he needs to backcheck better or that he cannot stickhandle through two defenceman alone (Morrison).

I think Linden and Morrison both suck. Linden has lacked the foot speed for a few years now and just doesn't have the hands anymore. He may have great leadership which I do not doubt. If that is the case than take up the reigns of assistant coach.

Morrison is just an average center. He's slight and already past his prime. He was obviously riding Naslund and Bertuzzi's coat tails and Burke was right to hassle him during his RFA and go to arbitration. Cooke is showing he is not worth $1.5M either...

Face it. Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa will never win the Stanley Cup as long as Koivu, Sundin, Nalsund, and Alfredsson are their captains. There is a reason why Calgary (Iginla) and Edmonton (Smyth) were the last two teams to the Stanley Cup Finals. [Won by TB (Lecavalier - Canadian) and Carolina (BrindAmour - Canadian).

IMO, the Sedins and Naslund are great but there is not one single Canadian player on this team other than Luongo who I would feel worthy enough to wear the captaincy. And that says a lot of about the character of the team.

I'm all for making a deal to try to get Marleau into the fold here.

Hitchhiker: No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.
Ted: That - good point.
Hitchhiker: 7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 doors. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.
Ted: Why?

Yeah, okay lets release Linden and Green. dry.gif In fact, the Nucks should implement a system where they release any player who finishes a game with a negative +/-, cuz God forbid we lose a game to the best team in the NHL this season. wink.gif

Sudsy, did Linden ignore you when you asked for an autograph?
